  • Loan Periods & Renewals

    Borrow up to 50 items at a time including books, movies, music, and more!

    Most items have a 3-week loan period and will automatically renew 3 times, with a few exceptions or if the item is on hold by another patron.

    We'll automatically renew, up to three times, any items that are eligible for renewal and are not reserved for another patron.

    Each library location has a 24/7 book return bin. You can also return your items inside to library staff.

    Napa County Library has been fine free since 2016! Due dates still apply to checked-out items. If the item is not returned by the due date, up to three overdue notices are sent:  

    • 2 days overdue
    • 7 days overdue
    • 15 days overdue

    If an item you checked out is lost or damaged, the fee is the retail cost of the item.
