Adult Literacy & Education
Learning at every stage—support for adults building skills and confidence.
No matter your goal or where you’re starting from, the library is here to support your learning. Through our Literacy Center, we offer free adult education programs designed for adult learners in a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can learn at your own pace.
Reading & Writing Help
Do you want help with reading or writing? We can help. This is a free program for adults. You will work one-on-one with a tutor at the library. You can learn at your own pace. We ask for a small time commitment so you can make progress.
Tutoring matches are available for Napa County residents who:
- Adults age 18 or older
- Able to meet with a tutor on a regular schedule
- Can speak some English
Literacy Bridge Collection
The Literacy Bridge Collection is a special group of books for new and beginning adult readers, as well as the tutors who support them. The collection includes stories, real-life topics, and skill-building books to support reading, writing, and everyday learning. These materials are designed to build confidence and enjoyment in reading, at your own pace.
