Meetings
2:30 - 3:30 p.m. on the 2nd Tuesday of January, March, May, September, and November at Calistoga Library.
History
The Friends of the Calistoga Library group was organized in 1978 to support the Calistoga Library. Over the years, the membership has grown to nearly 100 members, consisting of individuals, families and businesses.
Services
The Friends organization is focused on helping the Library in a number of ways:
- By raising funds, primarily through used book sales each year, to help the Calistoga Library purchase needed items, such as furniture, computers, and materials for the collection, and to sponsor programs for children,
- By assisting the Library in hosting special events,
- By maintaining an association of persons interested in libraries, focusing public attention on the library and demonstrating political support on library issues,
- By supporting and cooperating with the Library in developing library services and facilities for the community,
- By supporting the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights and the Freedom to Read Statement.
